I am 17, going on 18

18:00

So since I last had a proper post on here before my update one I turned 18! My birthday is March 18th which I know was 8 months a go but I never posted about what I did for it which was one of the best days of my life.

Thinking back on life to being 17 and seeing myself now as an 18 year old its odd to see the expectation rise from being classed as a child at 17 to now having all these adult things I am expected to do and am now able to do, like I'm now in the UK legally able to buy and drink alcohol but there is the expectation that I should be going off to university and have my life planned out.

Anyway, on the 21st March I went up to London with my mum, mum's partner and my two sisters as well as my best friend Kayleigh which you may know from some of my other posts.  We took the train up from my house to London Victoria train station and then got the tube to Trafalgar Square and had a walk round.

I had been trying to get a photo of Kayleigh on the train without her noticed which failed as she turned round just as I was about to take the picture so I told her to pose for one after she had pulled a funny face at me

We then grabbed lunch and walked round to Ripley's Believe It or Not on Piccadilly Circus which is a place with a bunch of weird and cool stuff people have found and done; it's a little like the Guinness World Book of Records.

Once we had walked round we came out onto the streets to see people protesting and it was very empowering to see the power of what people can do to help change the country.

Next thing on the agenda was heading round to the Prince Edward Theater to go for me and Kayleigh to go and watch Miss Saigon which I got as my Christmas present.  When I was in year 11 I was in my school production of Miss Saigon and it was amazing! I came out at the end and cried because it brought back so many memories for me.  If you haven't ever seen it I would highly recommend going and seeing it!
Waiting for Miss Saigon to start

We walked back through China Town towards the tube to go and end the day with some much needed dinner.

We got the tube round to Hyde Park to go and wait in line for the Hard Rock Cafe which was so worth waiting for, the food was amazing and whilst we were having dinner Paramore 'Now' came on and Kayleigh, my two sisters and I turned and looked at each other and freaked out and started singing at each other! Around on the walls they have loads of instruments and clothes which bands and artists have donated to the Hard Rock Cafe and it was so awesome!

Overall it was the best 18th birthday which I will remember for the rest of my life.
