Gallivanting in The Woods

19:47

Earlier this summer I went to the woods with my Canon, my dad and two sisters.  When I was younger my family and I used to visit these woods a lot and throughout the woods there are wooden statues.  As I was only about 7 at the time I asked my family about the times when we went there and I always used to enjoy climbing all over these wooden statues.

Whilst in the woods we found a tepee made of big bits of wood that someone had previously made.  When I was younger and in primary school I remember visiting somewhere with my year group and the year below me where we were put into teams and had to make a shelter that we could 'live in'. My team decided to make a tepee like this one and it's safe to say that my team built the best shelter.  Ever since that day these wood shelters always remind me of that day and bring back memories.

My sisters, my dad and I carried on walking around and I took some pictures with my Canon camera whilst we went round.  Here are some of my favorites:

As I was walking around I found this huge tree with lots of ants climbing up and down it with various food and leaves up and down the tree which I found fascinating.  I have always really loved photography and I love taking pictures of nature.  People always say that a picture can say a thousand words which I believe to be very true.  One thing I truly love about taking pictures is that you are able to see the individual's abstract way of seeing the world and their perspective.

We also used to visit these woods with our dogs and take them for walks in and out of the bluebell patches.  I can also clearly remember running around and racing my dogs through the bluebells and laughing a lot at everything I could see around me.  To this very day they will always remind me of my dogs.

When I came across this part of the woods it instantly made me think of typical horror films where the main character is running through the woods whilst being chased by the killer who's going to kill them and made me laugh to myself at the thought of it.  Admittedly I was glad I had come in the day time as I did have a slight feeling of being watched.

I also thought I would have a play with the sport mode on my camera so I asked my sisters to throw something or splash the water this was the result which looks pretty cool.  However I did end up getting splashed slightly with the muddy water in the process..
