It's Pancake Day!

So one of the best holidays of the year has been and gone, IT'S PANCAKE DAY! As I was going to make pancakes I thought I would write a post on it. For those know don't know what pancakes are they are the most magical of foods composed of milk, flour and eggs, here is how to make them. I used a Delia Smith recipe but there will be other ones you can use.
Ingredients
- 110g/4oz plain flour
- 2 medium free-range eggs
- 200ml/7fl oz milk mixed with 75ml/3fl oz water
You will also either need butter, margarine or oil to cook the pancake batter.
Method
First, sift the flour into a large bowl using a sieve so the flour gets an airing.
Then make a well in the centre of the flour and break the eggs into it.
Whisk the eggs (any whisk or a fork will do) and mix in all the flour and eggs. Make sure you get all the flour!
Now add small quantities of milk and water mixture into the bowl whilst whisking. Don't worry if there are any lumps as they will disappear whilst whisking.
Whisk together until the batter is smooth and has the consistency of thin cream. Once it's mixed together get a frying pan really hot and either add in a small amount of butter, oil or margarine.
Pour around a ladle or two table spoons worth of batter into the frying pan and move it around the cover the base of the pan as soon as you pour it in.
Leave it for around 30 seconds or so to cook and then flip it over and leave for a further 30 or so seconds. After both sides are cooked slide the pancake out of the frying pan and onto a plate; now add whatever you wish, I love Nutella or lemon juice and sugar on my pancakes!
I hope you enjoyed this blog post and enjoy your delicious Delia pancakes!
Have a lovely day
Love
